Buying a hot tub is a decision for ten years or more, so it is worth taking the time to choose. This guide will take you step by step through everything that matters — from size, location and technology to running costs, warranty and servicing. 1. How many people will use it
The first question is the number of people. A compact hot tub for 2–3 people is sufficient for a couple or small household, while a model for 4–6 people is ideal for a family. Allow some extra capacity for visitors, but do not buy an unnecessarily large hot tub — a greater volume of water means higher heating costs. 2. Where you will place the hot tub
An outdoor model or garden hot tub requires a reinforced terrace, paving or concrete slab capable of supporting the weight of the hot tub when filled with water and occupied. Consider three things: access for delivery and positioning (often by crane), proximity to the electricity supply and the option to drain the water when replacing it. Choose a compact model for a smaller terrace; in a spacious garden, you can also opt for a larger hot tub with a lounger.
3. Technology and equipment
The control unit and pumps are the heart of a hot tub. We use proven components from leading global brands — Gecko and Balboa control units, Gecko, Waterway and Koller pumps, and premium Lucite and Senoplast acrylic. Pay attention to the number and type of massage jets, pump output and the quality of the shell insulation.

4. Running costs and insulation
Insulation quality and an insulated thermal cover have the greatest impact on energy consumption. A well-insulated hot tub maintains the water temperature even in winter at a reasonable cost. The heating method is also crucial — a heat pump consumes significantly less energy than a direct electric heater. As a guide, the purchase price of IDOL hot tubs ranges approximately from 80 000 Kč to 280 000 Kč excluding VAT — depending on the product range, size and selected equipment. The exact price is always determined by the specific configuration, which you can create in the configurator without obligation.

5. Warranty, manufacturing and servicing
Check both the length of the warranty and the availability of servicing.
