Swim spa is counter-current pool, which combines swimming, fitness training and relaxation in water in one compact body. Thanks to the powerful countercurrent, you swim in place regardless of the length of the garden - the swim spa can therefore fit even where a classic swimming pool would never fit. What a swim spa is and who it is ideal for

A swim spa (sometimes also called a swim pool or counter-current pool) is a heated tank with an integrated counter-current that creates a continuous stream of water. In it you swim as in a river – always in one place. You set the current intensity according to your fitness, so the swim spa is used by recreational swimmers, athletes and seniors during rehabilitation alike.

It is ideal for families who want year-round pool for swimming and wellness, but do not have the space or budget for a large outdoor pool. Some models (Combi and Party) also combine a swimming zone with a relaxing hot tub section with massage jets – so you get a swim spa and hot tub in one.

Swim spa vs. classic pool – which to choose

A classic pool is a seasonal affair, requires a large area, excavation, a technical shaft and higher construction and maintenance costs. A swim spa works year-round, takes up a fraction of the space and has reasonable operating costs thanks to high-quality insulation and a heat pump. In addition, the water is filtered and heated in a smaller volume, so getting ready for swimming is a matter of moments, not days.

If you primarily want to swim, exercise and relax all year round, a swim spa is a more practical and cheaper choice than a built pool. If, on the other hand, you long for a large water area for a group of people, a classic pool makes sense – and we can equip that with a counter-current too.

Counter-current pool for swimming on the spot

The heart of every swim spa is counter-current. It generates a strong, wide stream of water in which you swim on the spot, without turns or push-offs from the wall. This is also an advantage for practising technique – you correct your stroke in one place. You choose the counter-current power according to whether you want relaxed swimming or intensive sports training.

Installation: above-ground, semi-recessed and in-ground

We offer swim spa in three installation variants, so you can fit it into any garden or interior:

• Above-ground installation – the fastest solution, the swim spa just needs to be placed on a reinforced concrete slab and connected to electricity.
• Partially recessed – a combination of comfortable entry and lower construction demands.
• Recessed into the ground – the swim spa is flush with the terrace and looks like a luxury swimming pool.

A swim spa can be placed outdoors or indoors (conservatory, wellness room). Before installation we always go through the construction preparation with you and recommend the most suitable variant.

Swim spa price and what affects it

The price of a swim spa is influenced mainly by the size and type of the model (Swim Pool, 4×3, Combi, Party), the counter-current power, the installation method, the type of cladding and the chosen equipment (lighting, ozonation, automatic chemical dosing, cover or enclosure). Does a swim spa work in winter too?
Yes, a swim spa is built for year-round operation. Thanks to its insulated body, cover and heat pump it keeps the water temperature even during frost, so you swim and relax all year round.

What is the maintenance of a swim spa?
Maintenance is simpler than with a classic pool – you work with a smaller volume of water. Just regular filtration, pH control and disinfection. With automatic ozonation or chemical dosing, care is minimal.

How much do operation and electricity cost?
Running costs depend on the set temperature, quality of insulation and heating method. With a heat pump, consumption is significantly lower than with direct heating; an insulated cover further reduces heat loss.

What construction preparation is needed?
For above-ground installation a flat, reinforced concrete slab and a power supply are enough. For the recessed variant, expect excavation and a foundation slab. We will specify the exact requirements based on the chosen model.

How strong a counter-current is needed for swimming?
For smooth swimming on the spot we recommend a powerful counter-current with a wide stream of water. The intensity is adjustable, so the swim spa suits both recreational and sport swimmers.

How long does production and delivery take?
We make swim spa to order in the Czech Republic. We will agree the delivery time and installation date in advance based on current production and chosen configuration.
