Running costs consist of three items:
- Electricity for heating and filtration — the largest part. It is fundamentally reduced by quality insulation, an insulated thermal cover and a heat pump instead of direct heating.
- Chemicals for water treatment — products for hot tubs for disinfection and pH; with ozonation or automation you use less.
- Water change — roughly once every few months depending on frequency of use.
