Hot tubs for guesthouses and hotels

A hot tub sells rooms. But a “domestic” one will not meet the requirements in a guesthouse.

Wellness is now the strongest selling point in accommodation offers — a room with a hot tub commands a higher price and maintains occupancy even outside the main season. The catch is something most operators only discover when dealing with the public health authority: a hot tub for guests is not a domestic hot tub. By law, it is a “bathing pool” — with all the obligations this entails. We manufacture hot tubs in a commercial configuration designed for this mode of operation — and because we are the manufacturer, we can tailor the technology to your business.

What the law says (and why hot tub selection depends on it)

Once you provide bathing to guests as a service, you are an operator of an artificial bathing facility (Act No. 258/2000 Coll.), and a hot tub with water above 28 °C is a bathing pool under Decree No. 238/2011 Coll. This entails, among other things:

A standard private hot tub has a volume of around 1–1.5 m³ — in commercial operation, you would therefore have to drain it every day. This is precisely why hot tubs for guesthouses are built differently: a larger water volume, powerful filtration and automatic water treatment that maintains hygiene limits without manual dosing.

Always confirm the specific operating regime for your business with the competent local public health authority — each case is assessed individually. We will prepare the hot tub technical documentation needed for your operating rules.

How the cooperation works

Where our hot tubs are already serving guests

You can find our hot tubs in a hotel wellness facility open to the public near our factory, in a Prague wellness hotel with year-round outdoor operation, and at rental and wedding venues where the hot tub is offered as a paid add-on to the stay. We will be happy to arrange specific references and visits to completed installations during the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need public health authority approval for a hot tub in a guesthouse?

If you provide bathing to guests, you are an operator of an artificial bathing facility: you need operating rules approved by the regional public health authority, laboratory water testing and technology that continuously maintains the required limits. Confirm the specific operating regime with your local public health authority — we will supply the hot tub technical documentation.

Can I use a standard domestic hot tub for guests?

We do not recommend it. In commercial operation, a bathing pool with a volume of up to 2 m³ must be drained and sanitised daily — this is not operationally practical. A commercial configuration with a larger volume, sand filtration and automatic water treatment is designed specifically for this mode of operation.

What does “automatic water treatment” mean?

The technology measures pH and sanitiser levels, doses the treatment products and records the values automatically — staff only check the overview (including in the mobile app). Without this, you cannot maintain the hygiene limits in daily operation.

How quickly can you resolve a fault?

Our own team provides servicing throughout the Czech Republic, and we keep spare parts (Gecko/Balboa, pumps, heaters) in stock.

Do you also manufacture larger tubs for wellness facilities?

Yes — we manufacture custom solutions, including swim spa pools and non-standard dimensions. The design is always based on your operation and available space.
