IDOL SPAS · 2026 buying guide
Hot tub buying guide
You buy a hot tub once every 10–15 years. Yet the market includes both honest manufacturing and imports for which price is the only consideration. We have compiled a list of what to verify before signing an order — it applies equally to our hot tubs and those of our competitors.
8 Things That Make the Difference
1. Acrylic
A shell made from cast sanitary acrylic retains its colour and shine even after years outdoors in the sun and in chemically treated water. Ask who manufactures the acrylic and what warranty it carries. Ours is 15 years.
2. Insulation
This is the most common area where cheap hot tubs cut costs. A year-round outdoor hot tub must have an insulated body and floor as well as a high-quality thermal cover. You can find specific figures in the article how much a hot tub costs to run each month.
3. Components
The control unit, pumps, and jets determine both service life and serviceability. Balboa, Gecko, and Waterway are proven standards.
4. Warranty
“5-year warranty” means nothing until you know what it covers. At IDOL SPAS: 15 years on the acrylic, 5 years on the structure, and 2 years on the technology and components.
5. Service
A hot tub is a piece of technological equipment. Make sure the seller has their own service technicians in the Czech Republic. We service hot tubs of all brands throughout the Czech Republic.
6. Electrical system
A plug-in hot tub is easier to install, while 400 V heats faster and supports a more powerful massage. Running costs are determined primarily by the insulation.
7. Location and Base
A hot tub filled with water and people weighs over two tonnes. It requires a level, reinforced surface, access for moving it into place and ideally a sheltered location.
8. Try It in Person
Seat ergonomics and jet positions cannot be assessed from photographs. Visit our showroom in Modletice near Prague to compare the models or start with the configurator.
What to look for when choosing in person
What matters in a hot tub often cannot be determined from a price list: the workmanship of the shell, the quality of the components and the actual installation. That is why it is useful to see the production process, the jets and a completed installation.

Czech-made
We manufacture in Jílové near Prague, so you know who builds your hot tub or swim spa pool and who will service it.

Components and jets
The jets, pumps and control unit determine the massage intensity, noise level and future serviceability.

Installation and Service
A suitable base, access to the technology and servicing in the Czech Republic are just as important for a long service life as the model itself.
What to watch out for: 3 common tricks
Clearance sale with 60 % off
A never-ending promotion with an inflated original price. A fair price is determined by the specifications, not by the size of the crossed-out amount.

Frequently asked questions
What is a reasonable price for a high-quality hot tub?
It depends on the size and equipment. Below a certain price point, high-quality acrylic, insulation, and branded components are simply not physically feasible. Configure a specific model in the configurator.
How long does delivery take?
With us, it takes 7–20 days, including custom modifications, because we manufacture in the Czech Republic. For imported products, expect weeks or even months, with no option for modifications.
